I would like to thank the Fallen Firefighters Memorial Committee for including my father in the Memorial service today. It had very special meaning to my brother and I; as we were both very young when we lost our Dad. It was a very moving ceremony and I want the Committee to know how much my family appreciates your time and dedication to remembering our Dad.

My dad, Capt. Miller True was a firefighter for 30 years and gave his life while responding to a fire on Dec. 4, 1977 in Spring City, Tn. I have just now heard about this memorial and I would love to visit. I am grateful to all firefighters and have a special place in my heart for them because of my dad's loyalty and service for many years.

I'm a 30 year veteran of the fire service from WV where I served mainly in a Rescue Company with the final rank of Captain.
I give great thanks to all of my brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the line of duty. This is a wonderful tribute to them. It is so very impressive and a great job. Thank You for not letting them be forgotten and to honor them.

The Tennessee Fallen Firefighter Memorial located at TFACA is a breath taking tribute and well worth a visit to honor those community servants who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Firefighters are a unique distinguished brother-sisterhood dedicated to serving their communities and others all their lives.

Archie Reed is someone I will never forget. He was great for reaching out and making someones life more meaningful in so many ways. He's was my friend (later unknowingly, my father-In-Law) who lead me into the importance of being a Volunteer Firefighter. He was a Chief who created a Fire Department around many good people, then we built a Firehall together. Archie gave his being on duty, for the safety of others. He's a true Hero.
